10/07/16 - Triathlon Glan y Mor Aberdyfi
This spectacular standard distance race begins in Aberdyfi and ends in Machynlleth, via some stunning mid-Wales scenery. A unique split transition also adds to the occasion!
Once part of the Welsh Championships, this is becoming a must-do race once again since being re-introduced in 2012! The 1.5k sea swim starts and finishes on Aberdyfi’s sandy beach, with a dramatic mass start just before high tide. The 40k bike route takes in Tywyn and Bryncrug, passes Tal-y-Llyn lake and through the shadow of Cadair Idris, before a fast descent from Corris into Machynlleth. The 10k run in the hills around the town has become legendary thanks to it’s long climb and breathtaking views from the highest point! A fast forestry road section follows and finally a steady downhill to the finish line at race HQ.

As well as individual entry, we also allow relay teams of two or three competitors (single sex or mixed). Please contact the club if you have any queries or concerns about entering the race, or wish to participate in a relay team but require help in finding partners. You can do it!
There is plenty to do in and around Machynlleth, with interesting shops, miles of hiking routes, world class mountain bike trails, and stunning coastline nearby.
